MESSAGE FROM POLEMARCH

Aloha ʻoe

It is with great pride and humility that I serve as Polemarch of the Honolulu (HI) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. As we continue to uphold the rich legacy of our noble clan, I am committed to leading our chapter with purpose, unity, and an unwavering dedication to service.

Our commitment to the Oahu community is rooted in brotherhood, fellowship, and meaningful engagement. Whether through mentoring youth, supporting local initiatives, or collaborating with fellow NPHC organizations, the Honolulu (HI) Alumni Chapter stands ready to make a lasting impact. We believe in lifting as we climb—ensuring that our presence on the island reflects the ideals of our fraternity and the strength of collective action.

As Polemarch, I will continue to foster strong relationships with our community partners, amplify the work of our Divine Nine brothers and sisters, and ensure that our chapter remains a beacon of leadership, service, and excellence.

Together, we will honor our past, uplift our present, and build a stronger future for our community.

Yours in the Bond,
James F. Falls

MESSAGE FROM POLEMARCH

Greetings and Aloha Good Brothers of the Honolulu Alumni Chapter.
As I enter my second year as Polemarch of the Honolulu Alumni Chapter, I notice that our Chapter, and our island members (financial and non-financial), have never been more relevant and important to the strategic initiatives that will soon appear across our Bond. I’ve come to think of the Honolulu Alumni Chapter as a small, but best in class, organization. It’s a humbling privilege to be surrounded by men that provide abundant opportunities to learn, teach, mentor, and share experiences. I’m proud of our Chapter’s successes over the last year, particularly giving attention to our two signature events, and our growing partnership with Kapi’olani Women & Children’s Hospital. In the year ahead, we will look to continue these initiatives, as well as adding another outreach opportunity to our existing Learn-2-Live program. I, with the help of the Vice Polemarch, will be introducing an innovative finance program and providing professional development that will be designed for the different stages of your career. To reiterate, the objectives of the Chapter shall be, in every way, consistent with those of The Grand Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Incorporated. My vision for our Chapter has not changed. We will continue to Kreate a Kulture that will inspire and enable selfless service and promote an unswerving commitment to the fundamental purpose and objectives of both Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated, and the Honolulu Alumni Chapter. My hope is that we will continue to serve as exemplars in our community, stay informed to better market our brand, and further our goals through the Bond of Brotherhood. Ways to get that vision accomplished:
  •  Assuring the Bond (Brotherhood)
    1. Recruit (Done passively//6-8 Aspirants for Fall & Spring MTA)
    2. Reclaim (Non-sustaining brothers)
    3. Retain (Sustaining brothers // (Unite college men of culture, patriotism and honor in a bond of Fraternity)
    4. Rejoice (Live@PHIve monthly // J5 // (Promote the spiritual, social, intellectual and moral welfare of our members)
  •  Active Engagement
    1. Exemplars of the Brand (Encourage honorable achievement in every field of human endeavor)
    2. Set a baseline for Chapter’s 3-5 Year Strategic Plan
    3. Lead, Train, mentor
    4. Scholarship (Two Official Name(s) to our Scholarships)
  •  Continued Service
    1. Community (Kapi’olani Women & Children’s Hospital// Adopt-a-School//) (Inspire service in the public’s interest)
    2. Volunteer (Make-A-Wish // Food Bank)
    3. Maintain a Presence (Social Events // Sustain ourselves as the premier Greek Org on Oahu)
We will follow the vision of our newly elected Grand Polemarch, Jimmy McMikle, who proclaims that every member of Kappa Alpha Psi should “be Informed, Involved, and Invested”. We will continue our Chapter’s current channels of communication. No information comes out through official Honolulu Alumni Chapter channels unless it is endorsed by me.  As always, Brothers are welcomed to suggest ideas and make comments for the good of Kappa, but it’s not official communication for our Chapter unless the Chapter Polemarch has been duly briefed by the Vice Polemarch, B.O.D., and/or members of the Chapter endorsing that communication.  This ensures we are one voice. This standard shall govern the conduct of this Chapter’s business throughout the fraternal year. Finally, I’d like to give a special shout-out of appreciation to Past Vice Polemarch James Falls, and our Chapter Board of Directors for their tireless work, guidance, and support on behalf of the HAC; it did not go unnoticed. Wishing us all a great and successful 2023-2024 and looking forward to seeing you soon!
Always in Phi Nu Pi!

Yours in the Bond,
